Extra Curricular
At Queens’ we recognise that the learning that happens outside the classroom is as important as that which takes place within. All students have access to a wide range of opportunities.
Our sporting facilities are second to none and we therefore have an extensive all year round out of hours sporting curriculum. Extra-curricular sport is enjoyed by a large number of students in a wide variety of sports including rugby, netball, football, hockey, athletics, rounders, cricket, basketball and tennis.
Students enjoy taking part in concerts and theatrical performances, visiting places of interest and participating in residential trips, including foreign expeditions. Queens' benefits from an international link with a partner school in Taiwan. Exchanges allow students to broaden their horizons, learn about different cultures and create global links and opportunities.
Students are keen to participate in the running and development of our school. They have the opportunity to represent their peers through the elected Student Council, play a part in our staff recruitment process and take on various student leadership roles.
Queens' offers the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold level. The programme is a real adventure, a once in a lifetime opportunity to 'do something different'.
Our Combined Cadet Force is regularly praised for providing our cadets with a wide range of challenging activities which test pupils' practical skills, promotes resilience, responsibility and leadership.
